Meet The Dugats

The Dugat Family has raised boer goats for more than three generations. Dugat Livestock began as Dugat Ranch in 1998 in Portland, Texas when Bobby Dugat purchased a show wether and a companion doe kid for his son Brandon. After purchasing the first two goats the Dugats were hooked. From there The Dugat Ranch steadily grew and reached its peak at nearly 250 breeding does in 2002. Over the years the ranch produced many county and local champions, as well as, the first National Grand Champion Wether at the State Fair of Texas in 2001.
Since 2001 the reigns of Dugat Ranch has been passed to Bobby Dugat’s sons Brandon and Brent. Brandon and his wife Alyssa, along with Brent and his wife Danielle have transformed Dugat Ranch in to what is now known as Dugat Livestock.

Brandon has a bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science from Stephen F. Austin State University, but goats have always been his passion. Throughout his FFA show career, Brandon raised more than 30 show wethers in a short four years with the highlights being his National Grand Champion Wether at the 2001 State Fair of Texas and his Grand Champion Market Wether at the 2001 San Patricio County Fair.
Alyssa also raised her fair share of FFA projects, but goats did not come along until later in her show career. After raising three market hogs and six market steers; Alyssa decided it was time to tackle a new project and purchased her first three show goats. Alyssa continued to raise show goats through the end of FFA show career, with her highlight being her Champion Lightweight Market Goat at the 2003 Brazoria County Fair.

Brandon and Alyssa Dugat followed the family tradition
and started their own herd of boer goats in 2011 with one show wether for Alyssa’s younger sister Christi and one companion doe kid. From there the herd has grown rapidly. They currently manage a small herd of 30 high quality does and have continued the winning tradition. Alyssa and Brandon strive to produce high quality animals that can be competitive at any level.

Brent and Danielle Dugat reside in Stillwater, Oklahoma where they, along with their two children Easton and Braylee, continue the Dugat Ranch tradition. Brent and Danielle started their herd in 2009 and manage a small operation of 40 high quality does, and continue to produce champions.
Once chores are complete around the farm, The Dugat’s try to dedicate a large portion of their time to helping local 4-H and FFA students with their livestock projects and improving their showmanship skills. Both Dugat families work closely to better their individual herds and ultimately improve Dugat Livestock; and produce your next champion!
